Keg Creek Board shop
Daniel and Sarah Hensley
In 2015, founders Daniel and Sarah Hensley, started a surf club called Keg Creek Surf, within their Clarks Hill Lake community. At the time a new water sport was emerging called wakesurfing. They fell in love immediately with this amazing new watersport and quickly became the expert in all things wakesurfing. As they grew within the sport, they noticed there were no stores in the CSRA that sold high quality gear. Seeing the need and wanting to share this amazing sport with their community, they started selling high quality wakesurf boards and gear to fellow lake lovers. Just like Daniel and Sarah, the community fell in love with wakesurfing and a business was born.
In 2018, the name was changed from Keg Creek Surf to Keg Creek Board Shop. Sarah and Daniel were experts in more than just wakesurfing, and started selling gear for all watersports. Their high quality gear was so in demand, that they sold it at watersports events all over the east coast and a dream started to form.
In 2022, they realized their dream and opened a brick and mortar location. This location means more than just a place to sell high quality gear, but also a chance to give back to their community and share their expert knowledge of these sports. Daniel and Sarah are experts in gear, boats, and boat performance. They know how to weigh almost any boat for peak performance from working closely with professional wakeboarders and wakesurfers. They have personally ridden on all the gear they sell, as well as, are familiar with all wake boat manufacturers. They are experts in teaching watersports to all ages because they have personally given lessons to countless customers from ages 2 -70.
They are the only local store you can try on the products to find the right fit for you and get expert advice on how to use it! Come see the difference it makes to select high quality gear with an expert vs guessing on an online platform.
Clarks Hill Wakesurf Open
In 2018 & 2019, Daniel and Sarah hosted an Internationally recognized Wakesurf Event called the Clarks Hill Wakesurf Open. Contestants from all over the United States and Canada came to compete in this $5000 purse event.
While Covid has kept them from hosting the event the last couple of years, they plan to host more local wakesurf and wakeboard events starting in 2023.
